Getting to Madeline Island is…half the fun!

Most visitors to Madeline Island drive to picturesque Bayfield, Wisconsin, where they board the regularly scheduled ferries which take passengers and their vehicles on the 20-minute trip (no reservations required).

DRIVING TIMES

From Chicago: Approximate drive time is 8 hours.

From Milwaukee: Approximate drive time is 7 hours. [WI map from current site]

From Madison: Approximate drive time is 6 hours.

From Minneapolis/St.Paul: Approximate drive time is 4 hours.

Madeline Island features a 3,000 foot blacktop landing strip that can accommodate private and chartered aircraft.
